From Idea to Platform

What began as a side project is now one of Germany's most innovative energy management platforms.

2022

The Spark: Making Energy Measurable

Alligator Analytica emerged as a direct consequence of a PV project focused on self-consumption accounting. During planning, it quickly became clear: there was no flexible, data-driven solution that meaningfully combined generation and consumption data. Rather than relying on existing systems, the founding team decided to build their own.

With the incorporation in 2022, the first foundations were laid. The initial projects came from the automotive industry – a sector with high energy consumption, complex metering technology, and strict requirements for documentation and compliance. These early projects have shaped the technical DNA of the platform to this day.

2023

Scaling Up: More Team, More Markets

In 2023, the team grew significantly. New specialists in data engineering, project management, and energy consulting joined the company, considerably expanding its capabilities.

At the same time, Alligator opened up to new industries: food retail, logistics, and healthcare each brought their own requirements for data architecture and alerting – requirements the team systematically integrated into the platform. The resulting industry diversity made Alligator more robust and universally applicable.

2024

Real-World Test: 300+ Sites, One System

2024 was defined by the largest project to date: a nationwide retail chain with over 300 locations entrusted Alligator Analytica with comprehensive energy monitoring across all its branches. This project put the platform's scalability to the test under real-world conditions – and it passed with flying colours.

Automated rollout processes, central dashboards with cross-site analytics, and an intelligent alerting system for deviations were further developed in this context. The expertise gained in multi-site projects is now one of Alligator's strongest differentiators.

2025

New Technologies, New Horizons

2025 marks a significant expansion step. A publicly funded AI research project enables the targeted development of learning algorithms for anomaly detection and predictive energy demand models – technologies that will be integrated directly into the platform going forward.

In parallel, a mobile metering system was developed specifically for use on construction sites: rugged, grid-independent, and ready to deploy immediately. With the integration of LoRaWAN technology (Low Power Wide Area Network), Alligator is also opening up sites where conventional wired metering is not economically or technically feasible – such as outdoor logistics, agriculture, or temporary infrastructure.
