Data Engineering
Digital recording of the necessary measuring points
Where there's a will,
there's a way
For many, the digitalisation of measurement technology or the provision of digital data sources is a major hurdle. However, both are essential for the use of successful energy management software. The criterion here is not where measurement technology can be easily accommodated, but the measurement matrix, also known as the measurement concept, which is designed for efficiency.
The software can only utilise its full potential if it has the necessary data at its disposal. And that pays off, because you reduce unit energy costs and CO2 emissions.
Our data engineering team is proud of the fact that we have always been able to achieve this. Even where there are no or poor networks or where security criteria prohibit the use of a LAN. Alligator doesn't just use a single data transmission technology, but simply all of them. This omni-compatibility also allows for mixed infrastructure structures, such as radio links via LoraWan, MQTT, WLAN, 5G, etc. in addition to your own LAN. Even older bus systems such as KNX or BACnet are no obstacle.
Alligator Data Engineering: The specialists in making things happen
Unique: Alligate
The centrepiece of fast and secure data transmission
Our physical Gateway
The gateway transmits the data from the site via the Internet to our data centre with maximum security. The Alligate has two decisive advantages: In its largest version, it can simultaneously record and manage up to 254 different measurement channels. This means that the number and type of physical, digital measuring points per Alligate location is virtually unlimited. Furthermore, the data transmission itself can take place in any type of WAN (Wide Area Network). This means "normal" Internet access in the company, via LoraWAN, via LTE or 5G, etc.
In the Alligator world, your data is backed up three times, for each measuring point and then twice again as a whole.
Triple Data Redudancy
This ensures that the data is still available in the event of normal faults in one of the networks used once the fault has been rectified. If data transmission from the metering point to the Alligate fails, the meters themselves usually back up the data for 24 hours. The Alligate writes the data once locally and simultaneously to the data centre. The local data storage is overwritten after 24 to 48 hours. In the data centre, your data is subject to our data security infrastructure. In addition to the usual backup routines, a complete failover instance always runs in parallel, which secures the entire data even in the event of a physical destruction of the computers.
The Alligate is modern, fast, secure, very versatile and practical.

PRESENTATION OF RESULTS
We take a close look at the location and check on site how the energy management measurement concept can be technically implemented: Which measurement technology and which data transmission is suitable, whether and to what extent sub-distributors are suitable, whether networks can be used, etc. We prefer to carry out this on-site visit with your company electrician, if available, because he is usually familiar with the electrical systems and their special features. Our specialised electricians can also do this, but it usually takes a little more time and is therefore more expensive.

After the on-site visit, the findings are analysed and form the basis of the quotation. Our offer is then binding and includes all costs for the concept, procurement and installation of the necessary components. If the technical survey reveals machines or processes that have not yet been taken into account in the measurement concept but make sense from an energy point of view, we will immediately consult with the decision-makers. In this way, you receive the scientifically, economically and technically optimised energy management system. As our services are BAFA-accredited and listed, we can also provide you with a BAFA-compliant data collection plan and process reference if required.

FUNCTION TEST
If required, we offer a well-coordinated, competent team for the realisation, which is preferably responsible for the realisation of the concept with your specialists on site. The sensors, gateways, data transmission and interfaces are installed, tested and commissioned. We do not charge any commercial surcharges for the hardware components. It is in our interest to realise the project as inexpensively as possible for our customers. If we procure the goods, we only charge a handling fee of 15% on the best possible purchasing conditions, which you can save if you make the purchase yourself.
DATA TRANSMISSION AND GATEWAYS
Alligator is compatible with all common networks and bus systems, including those from the first generation of digitalisation in the industry. This ensures that existing measurement technology can be integrated into the Alligator world in most cases.
MULTICHANNEL-CAPABLE ALLIGATE
Our Alligate gateway is able to manage up to 254 different channels simultaneously. In practice, this means that different network and bus systems can also be integrated into Alligator. In combination with the Alligator API, we have so far been able to integrate any data source.
